Content alerts
You can choose to receive journal content alerts in either email or RSS format. In order to receive email alerts you first need to sign in to our informaworld site www.informaworld.com.
If you do not have a login you will first need to register which you can do here.
Email alerts
There are several types of email alerts:
- Citation Alerts - tells you when your chosen pieces of content are cited by other new content.
- New Issue Alerts - tells you when new issues of your chosen journals are available.
- iFirst Alerts - tells you when new iFirst articles are available. These are articles that appear online before they are published. Only a selection of journals publish in this manner.
- Publication Alerts - tells you when there are new publications in your chosen subject areas.
- Search Alerts - tells you when new content matching your saved search expression is available.
How to set up email alerts:
- In order to set up most of these alerts go to the journal you are interested in.
- On the journal homepage you will see an 'Alert' link highlighted below. Click on this to see all the types of alert available for that journal, also highlighted.
- From the list, click on the type of alert you wish to receive. This will activate the alert and send you emails based on your chosen criteria.
- The types of alert available alter depending on what page you are looking at. If you are viewing the journal's table of contents you will see new issue alerts. If you are viewing the abstract page of a particular article you will also have the option to activate a citation alert for that specific article.
- To set up subject alerts find the subject you are interested in. A list of all subjects can be found here. Click on 'Create alert' to set up an alert for this subject.
- Search alerts can only be set up once you have run an advanced search.
RSS
To receive RSS alerts, you will need to use an aggregator or news reader. Most modern internet browsers have one.
- To set up an RSS alert click on the RSS button.

- This will open a new page displaying the RSS feed. Click 'Subscribe to this feed' to receive an RSS feed for that journal. This will notify you to new content published in this journal.
